Gotta give props to my show Roc, its gonna be back on air Bounce TV jan. 5th 2015! This was one in a hand full of back shows based in Baltimore that made a real impact. Roc was the Black version of the Honeymooners. a middle class sanitation worker and nurse in the working class section of West Baltimore. The emersons was so much like my family, my uncle was like Joey I had a granddaddy much like Rocs and my mother was also a nurse and my father use to bring home used up phones and pool tables just like Roc and took pride in his job too. I wish we had more shows like this on tv that identify with black people and not this tyler perry, fake cosby show mess we see each day. of course they took it off the air in 1994 due to the episode where a little girl contracted HIV due to bad blood transfusion. that last episode was so serious is ceased to be a comedy any more. Charles S. Dutton sought control over the show in the second season because he wanted to focus on serious issues on the show and he wanted to be more education and bring awareness to issues affecting the black community. The network cut the show because Fox executives said it was TOO PREACHY whatever the hell that means. SMH!
