Gotta tell you all...I have DJd many United States Marine Corps Birthday Ball celebrations...but this years event with the Headquarters & Service Battalions, Headquarters Marine Corps Birthday Ball.....was amazing!! I brought the best of my mixing abilities to the table for my fellow Marines this year....the dance floor didnt stand a chance. We had just over 595 guests as I powered the room with Yorkville Elite EF500 cabinets and Yorkville Elite LS801 sub. I was going to fill the room in with some K12s....but the Yorkies did a great job with the layout of the room. I ran 2 Chauvet LED Intimidator Scan LED 300s, 2 Chauvet Intimidator Barrel LED 300s and 3 Chauvet COLORstrip Mini Washes. I also used a Chauvet LED Followspot 75ST to spot the POW, MIA and KIA table during the ceremony. Spun off of a pair of Reloop RP-7000 Limited Turntables matched up with a pair of Stones Throw Timecoded Vinyl, a Rane Sixty-Two Mixer, 17 MacBook Pro with Serato Scratch Live and a Shure SM-58 Mic. Spun tracks from the 80s to present Top 40, Hip-Hop, Urban, Latin and Classic Rock. Oh what a night it was! The event took place in Washington, D.C. Its always a pleasure for me to DJ with my fellow Marines. This is my 5th year in a row DJing with them for the Ball and looking forward to many more great years with the United States Marine Corps!
