Gotta vent. Went to a ranch yesterday because I thought I wanted - TopicsExpress

Gotta vent. Went to a ranch yesterday because I thought I wanted to shoot an axis...this ranch was a killing pasture. I have hunted many wild sheep in Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, Mongolia, China, Russia, NWT, Utah, Wyoming, Mexico & Alaska. I have hunted 33 countries on 6 continents. I have almost even completed my NA 29. ( I have the NA 25) When I say hunt I mean HUNT. Glassing from far away, sitting, sleeping, hiking eating and living in the harshest conditions on earth. Chasing wild animals in a wild and FREE environment. Not caged in and EFING high fenced that come to a feed truck. There is nothing you can possibly say to make a legitimate argument that this type of hunting is considered fair chase. I was disgusted and possibly scared for life. We have an extremely large ranch in NM. I have personally guided 82 successful elk hunts in my career...man I would not call this king of chit guiding. I showed my clients an experience...some (not all) of you guys show people a mercy killing. That is in no efing way hunting. I saw other hunters shoot an elk out of a front yard of a lodge I wanted to cry for the poor domesticated elk. I have seen other elk in high fences...there is no sporting chance ever of an elk surviving. So I am now in the market for a free range axis. Maybe Hunter Ross with Desert Safaris or Hawaii Safaris however I will never step foot on a high fence again.
