Gov. Eddie Baza Calvo, Lt. Gov. Ray Tenorio and his wife Naoko Shimuzi lead a celebration of the newly completed Retaining the Spirit of USA Wall in East Hagatna. The wall is a project of the Islandwide Beautification Task Force, which is led by Lt. Gov. Tenorio and Naoko. With the help of corporate sponsors and countless volunteers over the years, what was once a magnet for graffiti became a wall that displayed the Guam and US flags that were painted and repainted. This latest iteration of the wall was created using thousands of glass tiles.
