Gov. John W. Hickenlooper, was joined by Maj. Gen. H. Michael Edwards, the Adjutant General of Colorado, and the Colorado National Guard today for the lighting of the 2014 Capitol Tree of Honor. The tree lighting ceremony honors all Colorado-based service members who have died in combat operations since Sept. 11, 2001. Note: The official dedication of Colorado’s Capitol Tree as the “Gold Star Family Tree of Honor” will be held on Dec. 16, 2014 at 5:30 p.m. with Colorado military families in honor of those who have given the ultimate sacrifice on behalf of our community and nation.
