Gov. Shettima Flag Off Food For All Initiative With 600 Beneficiaries The Borno State Government under the leadership Hon. Kashim Shettima had today flagged off Food For Initiative by distributing staff to the beneficiaries. The program which is organize Alhaji Grema Tereb, the newly appointed Chairman of the Borno State Emergency Relief Agency is aimed at providing succor to the masses by distributing basic food items to low income earners, vulnerable and the internally displaced persons so as to eradicate hunger, improve nutrition and alleviate poverty. The strategy of distributing these food items is being done in consultation community leaders and associations in targeted areas by selecting sixty (60) humble and credible volunteers who are each given the mandate to nominate ten (10) deserving families as beneficiaries of the food items. The Food For All Initiative was kicked-off today at Ngomari area with the purpose of distributing a bag of rice, maize grid and a gallon of cooking Oil to six hundred 600 hundred homes. The Initiative will then then be immediately extended to all parts of the state said Grema Tereb. The Governor had during flag-off commended the people for organizing themselves in an orderly manner and called on the Chairman to extend similar gesture to the CJTF, all police and military barracks in State. The Governor also directed the Chairman to provide treatment to one Alhaji Bukar Usman a with driver with Borno Express Corparation who sustained a facture on the leg and forward the bills to his office. Many beneficiaries who spoke at the event expressed their gratitude and happiness to the Governor for introducing such an initiative and for launching the program in their area.
