Government of India’s Assistance of NRs. 10.3 million for Mustang Distt. A Memorandum of Understanding was signed on 6th December 2014 between Embassy of India, Kathmandu and District Development Committee, Mustang for Muktinath Drinking Water Supply project for Purangaon and Ranipawa villages at Muktinath in Mustang Distt. 2. The people of Purangaon and Ranipawa villages are facing acute shortage of drinking water. People have to fetch water from sources those are far away from their houses. Hence, the daily chore of supplying water to their houses becomes very time consuming and tiresome. The project being constructed with Govt of India assistance will benefit over 250 households of these villages. Availability of drinking water will improve the economic and financial aspects of the local community of these Villages. 3. In addition to these projects, 05 projects have been already completed with the Indian assistance of NRs.122.9 Million and work is also going on for 05 development projects with Indian assistance of 175.9 million in Mustang District. India has also gifted 03 ambulances for use in the Mustang District. 4. Recognizing the importance of accelerating growth in Nepal, India remains committed to rendering all possible assistance in that direction. The India – Nepal Economic Programme has an outlay of over NRs. 66 billion with more than 490 large and small development projects completed or currently being implemented in almost all the districts of Nepal. These development projects mainly in the sectors of education, health and infrastructure development have been undertaken in response to local needs, and in partnership with the Government of Nepal.
