Government of Saint Lucia Ministry of Infrastructure, Port Services and Transport In keeping with Section 179 of the Motor Vehicles and Road Traffic Act (Cap. 8.01), the Transport Department of the Ministry of Infrastructure, Port Services and Transport would like to inform the public of the application of demerit points to the licenses of persons who have been convicted of traffic offences. Traffic offences include: * Not reporting an accident involving injury * Not stopping after an accident * Driving without due care * Dangerous driving * Exceeding speed limits * Overtaking improperly * Parking on restricted place The accumulation of demerit points can result in suspension of a driver’s license. Drivers are therefore encouraged to exercise due care and diligence at all times and to make road safety a priority.
