Government to establish 5 industries yearly As part of NDC 2012 manifesto to create sustainable jobs in all sectors of the economy to enhance economic and social growth, p43 • Government is to establish five industries yearly beginning early next year across the country. • This is in line with government’s promise to create jobs and enhance economic growth. • In addition, government is to create job opportunities for over 500,000 Ghanaians yearly through the establishment of small medium-Agro processing factories. • Meanwhile visibility studies are far advanced for the establishment of an Agro-Processing Plant in Somanya to process mangoes produced by farmers in the area. • Pineapple and orange processing factory will also be established in the Central Region to process oranges and Pineapples produced by farmers in Asikuma Odoben Brakwa and Abura Aseibu Kwamankese District. • The MMDA’s have been directed by government to fish out small and medium scale enterprises that have the potentials of creating jobs and submit them for financial assistance.
