Government told to appoint Wakf CEO in 2 months The High Court has directed the state government to appoint a regular chief executive officer (CEO) for the AP State Wakf Board within two months. A division bench was dealing with a public interest litigation filed by Syed Omer Shafi, president of Wakf Welfare Organization of the city, challenging the memo issued by the government in June this year permitting MA Gaffar, accounts officer at the Wakf Board, to act as the CEO. The petitioner’s counsel said Gaffar was only a matriculate and was not eligible for the post.
