Governor Isiaka Ajimobi 300 million Naira Xmas largess a Greek gift It is rather unfortunate that Governor Isiaka Ajimobi Of Oyo state would announce a three hundred million naira wastage on a sorry attempt at aping the stomach infrastructure project that is party hierarchy has roundly condemned when similar actions took place in a neighboring state. This was the observation of Asiwaju Adekola Adeoye leader of Accord. Youth Volunteer network in Ibadan. He remarked that of all the issues that the state had to grapple with at this time such deliberate mismanagement of scarce resources should not have been embarked upon, considering that workers are yet to be paid their November and December salaries, schools are not getting grants, pensioners are not paid, street sweepers recently went on strike due to non payment of salaries for the last five months. Most of the road projects started by the Ajimobis government particularly in Oke Ogun has since become abandoned projects. Yet his excellency would announce that the sum of 300 million naira would be spent on christmas gift how sad. This I must say is the height of insensitivity by a government who can not be bordered by the plight of the civil servants in the state. Adeoye wondered why the governor did not give out such gifts in the previous christmas celebrations, noting that his action is targeted to hoodwink the people as 2015 elections approaches. He also noted with dismay that the governor exhibited his penchant to waste public funds when he spent millions to invite muslim brothers to come and break the last Ramadan fast with him daily. This he noted would have been commendable if he had always been known to do so from the onset of his administration, perhaps we would have seen the religious significance. But not at the tail end of his administration when all his actions and in actions are second term induced. Adeoye therefore warned the people against been carried away by the Greek gifts Senator Ajimobi is offering at this time, after neglecting their welfare for so long. Asiwaju Adekola Adeoye is the team cordinator,Accord youth volunteer network, oyo state.
