Governor Padilla awards 100K to 9 centenarians Senior citizens from different towns of Nueva Vizcaya aged 100 years old and above received their incentives of P100 thousand from the provincial government through Governor Ruth Padilla. During a flag-raising ceremony at the People’s Stage, Capitol, Bayombong this morning (March 17), Governor Padilla presented the said 100-year old Novo Vizcayanos and handed them their checks. Governor Padilla said: “Kung hindi man inaprubahan ni President Aquino ang magbigay ng 100 thousand pesos sa mga magse-celebrate ng kanilang ika-isang daang taong kaarawan, dito sa Nueva Vizcaya, inaprubahan ni Governor Ruth Padilla sa tulong ng Sangguniang Panlalawigan. Last December 26, the SP passed ordinance no. 2013-089 granting cash incentives and providing benefits and privileges to centenarians who are actual residents of the province. Governor Padilla said that in addition to the cash incentives, these centenarians will receive free medical treatments in all the hospitals run by the provincial government. “At first, only those celebrating their 100th birthday are supposed to be granted the incentives but due to various clamors, even those above 100 years of age could claim this incentive,” Padilla added. Recipients of P100 thousand were from Aritao, Juan Bacudo, 102 years old; from Bambang, Arsenia Q. Magday, 102 years; Pedro L. Revita, 107 years old, and Celedonia B. Pascual, 102 years old; from Bayombong, Maria G. Dugay, 107 years old and Leuterio A. Genato, 101 years old; from Dupax del Norte, Anastacio B. Bartolome, 103 years old, Maura R. Viloria, 103 years old; from Sta. Fe. Biona C. Camutiao, 102 years old. The screening committee on the “centenarian” ordinance are Governor Padilla as chairman, SP member Donior Tidang as co-chairman, and Provincial Legal Officer Voltaire Garcia, Provincial Administrator Maybelle Dumlao-Sevillena, LGOO Sudi Valencia, PSWDO Lita Tabudlo, PHO Edwin Galapon, Provincial Statistics Officer Cholly Bayon, and Mr. Gregorio Singangan as members. # gbb
