Governor Shettima pays tribute to Kwankwaso at 57 Governor Kashim Shettima of Borno State, yesterday congratulated his Kano counterpart, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso on attaining the age of 57 on Tuesday. Shettima described Kwankwaso as currently, the most Senior and most experienced of the 36 Governors in the country, who has remained focused and committed to the re- invention of Kano State. My elder brother,His Excellency, Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, thoug h not the oldest, he is the most senior of all serving governors because he first became a Governor in 1999 when none of us serving now, could have been on that seat. He must therefore, have a lot of experience more so,that he successfully governed Nigerias most populated State for four years from 1999 to 2003 and now, even doing better than he did. Dr Kwankwaso is to me, the most experienced of us because he also combines rare knowledge of governance as one time Minister of Defence in the Federal cabinet and as one time legislator. He has experience that leaders hardly combine. For us in Borno, Kwankwaso, his government and people of Kano State are very dear to our hearts. On two occasions, Governor Kwankwaso was in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital to stand by us and to share in our moments of grief. He even went as far bringing to us, a donation of twenty million from Kano State Government as contributory relief for our people. He has proven to be a brother and a comforter. I pray that Allah grants him more fruitful years, good health and wisdom. I pray that Kano grows to a more enviable place for the benefit of citizens, under his tenure. I also pray that Allah increases his courage which has made him standout as an honest leader that not only speaks the truth but also defends the truth. In the northern Nigeria as a geo- political zone, Governor Kwankwaso is one of our most strategic voices, who genuinely and with courage, stands by the region to promote its legitimate interests and that of Nigeria at large. We adore Kwankwaso, we respect him and we celebrate him. Allah Ya jaa kwana, yaya na Governor Shettima was quoted saying in a statement by his Adviser on Media,Isa Gusau
