Governorship aspirants in Cross River State on the PDP platform have been directed by the Northern Caucus of the party to submit their curriculum vitae and other personal details along with two passports to the Chairman of the Caucus, Chief Linus Okom a.k.a Ada Bekwara. This instruction is sequel to the scheduled meeting of the Caucus with all aspirants on Saturday, 6th of August 2014 at the Ogoja Council Hall for interaction and commencement of screening processes. A statement signed by Chief Linus Okom states that the curriculum vitae and passports are to be submitted in his office at Eta Agbo behind Calculus transport agency before the close of work on Wednesday, 3rd September, 2014. Hon John Ulafor Onoh, the Chairman of the Publicity subcommittee said though the Caucus has split into subcommittees, aspirants are meeting with the entire Caucus to enable the members interact with all the aspirants and for the aspirants on the other hand to also meet with one another. He said the meeting would give room for the aspirants to meet one on one with each other and allow for personal assessment by each contending aspirant if he has the capacity to continue the race or to opt out or join ranks with another aspirant. “At the end of the day, it is only one person that will be governor and in this meeting we hope to prune down the number and also for the aspirants themselves to meet one on one and interact and those who feel they cannot continue seeing those who are in the race opt out or join forces with others”. Hon Onoh said in any contest, every contestant knows his capacity and if he sees that he cannot contest against those arrayed against him, he can willingly step down. “If I want to fight you and in my heart of heart I know I cannot fight you, then I can throw in the towel rather than engage in a battle that will ruin me or leave me with severe bruises”. follow us on twitter @ crossriverwatch Related Posts via Categories
