Govt commits $150m for roads in 6 Cocoa Regions As part of NDC 2012 manifesto to improve accessibility to major centres of population, production and tourism, p53 • Government has committed $150 million into the construction of roads in the 6 cocoa growing regions in the country beginning September. • The Minister for Roads and Highways said this when he inspected the progress of work on some roads which are being constructed in Takoradi.. • The move would help in the carting of cocoa from the remote growing areas to the city centres for export with ease, among other things. • Cocoa roads under the feeder, urban and highway sectors will be constructed, especially those in the northern part of the Western region where a lot of cocoa farms have been cultivated.
