Govt job (including job in Public Entities) is altogether a different ball game, which is very much different from being a business man or industrialist or from jobs in private sector. And it is so even in developed rich countries. It is quite normal that for most of young people, who just finished study, it is always a big tension to chose a profession or job. Apart from a separate choice of going abroad for better jobs and better salary, even if one decides to stay in Nepal, it is quite normal that many have this feeling of grass is greener elsewhere. One other interesting aspect in Nepal is that private sector salary is not much compared to govt or public sector, in fact in many cases, private sector pays less than in govt. Of course, there are exceptions like exceptionally high salaries of some bank CEOs. It is unfortunate that due to various reasons, unemployment problem is still alarming even after the advent of LOKTANTRA eight years back. We can only hope that the employment situation will improve in near future. In IT sector, as well as in some other trade & industry sector, young people are doing on their own, quite well with or without bank loans. So, there are lot of choices for youths, and one need to make career decisions, which may or may not always be the right decision. Many say luck is also a factor, which I also agree. But management science says that whatever job one takes up, try to excel in whatever you are doing. Hard work, continuous learning, not compromising in certain basic principles, and always guarding ones integrity is a must for success in any profession.
