Govt misusing official resources for political gains: Nizamudin Bhat =>Accusing the alliance government of misusing official resource for political gains, the senior Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader and MLA Bandipur, Nizamudin Bhat has appealed Election Commission of India (ECI) to intervene and ensure the public resource is not put at the service of NC workers in Kashmir valley. He stated that agriculture department and Wullar Conservation Authority distributes seasonal seed and saplings during these days. Unfortunately this material is selectively provided to workers of NC and Congress only to promote electoral gains while as genuine progressive farmers and orchardists are being left high and dry. He said in Bandipore he has already brought this to the notice of district Election Officer who had assured end of the biased practice violative of Election Law and misuse of public resource. Similarly, solar lights are also distributed by various departments selectively again to put adversaries of NC on disadvantage. He said that election commission should look into these instances, which only indicate the government intention to malign the electoral process by garnering votes against appeasement. He said that this practice has already damaged the credibility of elections in Kashmir and if allowed again this will not undermine the will of the people but will also render the elections in Kashmir as a futile exercise. Such instances have dismayed the youth in particular in past and state cannot afford further distress on this account. He hoped that election commission will ask its observers to collect details on how the government manages the administration and public resource for its pity political interests. (CNS)
