Govt negligence responsible: Gohil Senior Congress leader Shaktisinh Gohil, who is also a former leader of opposition in the state assembly, held the negligent attitude of chief minister Narendra Modi-led state government responsible for floods in central and southern Gujarat. He said the government hasn’t followed a single recommendation of the Justice Sugnaben Bhatt inquiry commission which was constituted after 2006 floods in Surat. Gohil said the state government is not serious about the safety of life and property of the people and is showing criminal negligence. He said officials and ministers are not keen to restrict illegal development in flood-prone areas.
