Govt orders probe in molestation case, GOWHAR MANZOOR Srinagar, June 06: (GNS) Police has registered a case against Director Health Services Kashmir, Dr Salim-ur-Rehman,Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Anantnag Dr. Nazir Shahdad, and Block Medical Officer (BMO) Saller Dr Irshid Tak under section 354 RPC (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) in Police Station Shaheedgunj here. Though majority of the Medicos described it an intrigue against the Director official sources said that a nurse (name withheld) approached the police station, complaining that the Director tried to molest her after calling her in his office. The nurse, said to be working at a Health Centre in Anantnag , has also leveled similar allegation against the CMO and the BMO. Subsequent to complaint, police has registered a case under FIR 46/2014 against the trio and started further investigation in this regard. “We have registered an FIR 46/2014 under section 354 RPC against Director Health Service Kashmir, CMO and BMO Saller based on the compliant by the nurse,” Station House Officer Shaheedgung, Nissar Ahmad confirmed to GNS. Meanwhile Health Minister Taj Mohi-ud-Din said that a departmental enquiry has also been ordered in the case. “We have appointed Commissioner Secretary Health to probe the incident,” Taj Mohi-ud-Din told GNS. When contacted, CMO Anantnag Dr Nazir said that the allegations leveled against him by the lady were ‘false and fabricated’. “Actually the lady (nurse) does not want to perform her duties as provided under rules. She wants to hijack entire department as she wants to be governed by her wishes and whims. You can confirm yourself from past four years record how she wanted to governed and when her wish was not fulfilled, she has resorted to leveling false allegations,” he said. One more Officer of health department said that the allegations of the Nurse are false and baseless as Director Health and BMO Sallar are morally good.
