Grab the cold weather gear - more cold air heading our way tonight. What a change and it gets colder behind a second cold front passing later tonight. We have dry time for now - under the strongest winds of the jet stream that feed this large autumn storm. The so-called dry slot we are under now will move east and make way for the coldest temps since last May. Gusty winds will continue tonight along with more rain showers moving in before 8 PM. have an umbrella ready to go if youre heading out for area HS football games and plan on a 4th quarter temperature that dives into tho 40s. Overnight low temps plunge into the upper 30s away from the city Saturday and Sunday morning. Frost is not likely due to brisk winds but to be on the safe side some of the tender plants could require some attention. This weekend will be cool. Afternoon temperatures Saturday will hold in the 50s - more typical for November. Scattered showers will accompany the cool air for each of the next 3 days. Not everyone will have rain but these showers will likely develop during the heating of the day.
