She Male Snails is a visual fantasy of delicately flavoured contrasts, of delirium and sensuality, distillation and disjuncture, and the reclamation of femininity from the destruction of masculine forces. The film portrays people that are caught between genders, more than just a boy or girl, with an eye for feminine androgyny. The protagonists Eli and Ester struggle with anxiety, violence, and the problematic nature of self-definition.
