Grace Rwanda has good news for youth looking make a difference this summer! Were hiring! Although we are a volunteer-run charity, we have just received a special employment grant from a joint federal/provincial government program which will allow us to hire three unemployed youth for three months this summer to help our charity grow. We are looking for three motivated, skilled and hard working youth to fill the following three positions immediately: 1. Fundraising Assistant: Your role will be to assist in organizing fundraising events for Grace Rwanda, including a Langley International Festival event and other fundraisers. You may also assist with writing grant proposals. Enthusiasm, organizational skills, responsibility, and some experience with event planning are assets. 2. Administrative Assistant/Bookkeeper: Your role will be assisting with filing and organizing correspondence and documents, helping create an organized system and doing some basic accounting and bookkeeping. Enthusiasm, organizational skills, responsibility, a good head for math and some experience in admin work and/or education in accounting are recommended. 3. Social Media/Multimedia Assistant: Your role will be assisting the current Grace Rwanda Communications Manager with media projects. We are particularly looking for a candidate with skills in film and video software editing to assist our volunteer filmmaker in logging footage for the Grace Rwanda documentary. Enthusiasm, responsibility, excellent writing and communications skills, training in film and video editing are important. In order to qualify for these government-funded positions, you must be: - a B.C. resident who is legally entitled to work in Canada - unemployed and 15 to 29 years of age - not a full-time student i.e. you cannot be enrolled this fall in either high school, college or university or any other school program - not receiving EI (employment insurance) currently or within the past 60 months - not a current participant in any other government-funded work program This is a full-time job (at least 40 hours a week) for three months starting as soon as possible. The pay is $2,800 per month. We can offer some flexibility with your hours and location, as long as your work gets done. For example, you may be able to work from home for some portion of the work week, but will also be expected to work as needed from our office in Langley in Walnut Grove.
