Grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. When Jesus brought grace to the earth, He gave us His Spirit to teach us. The extension of grace was given to imperfect man to offer him salvation, while we were yet sinners. But, when we accept the offer of grace, and enter into blood covenant, that is partaking of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, through repentance, water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ, with the heart and mind to obey Christ, we receive the Holy Spirit that in turns leads, guides and directs our paths, as we yield ourselves to Him. So through this salvation journey there are some things we must do to keep this binding agreement in force, as wilfully returning to sin, can cause a man to fall out of grace, breaching the contract for grace, thereby losing his soul. So it is grace that teaches us to do some things to remain in contract: deny ungodliness and worldly lusts; if we do this we should be able to live soberly - not devoted or surrendered to anything habitually or obsessively than Christ, righteously - morally good, acting in accordance with Gods moral laws and godly - believing in Christ showing loyalty to God by being mindful to obey His teachings, in this present world. For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world Titus 2:11-12.
