Several things came out of the at meeting.Tonight, I share with you the highlights: One, with the exception of the Grace doll, Mattel will phase out all dolls, branding and packaging from its So In Style line - the official Barbie line of The Black Doll Affair Affair. Remaining committed to increasing diversity and relevance, Mattel will take Grace into the evolution of the Barbie brand. Mattel will offer Grace and a greater variety of diverse dolls within its most popular and widely distributed line, Fashionistas! The 2015 Fashionistas line features an expanded representation of diversity including some of the same features found in the So In Style line! Two, Mattels team sought feedback on the new line of which we got a sneak peak! So exciting and super inclusive, the 23 Fashionistas dolls in 2015 will feature 14 different facial sculpts, 8 skin tones, 18 eye colors, 22 hair styles {one of which I HIGHLY recommended to match our fastest growing current hair trend ;-} and 23 hair colors and fashions! Rooted in their partnership with The Black Dolls, I am pleased & proud to announce that our partners over at Mattel were extremely involved in our opinions and very engaged with our feedback and suggestions for aesthetic opportunities! Three, having seen all the Dolls, I am honored that we are partners with Mattel!
