Gracious and loving heavenly Father, glory to Your matchless name, I Am That I Am. Thank You for sending Jesus, the Lamb of God, Who is Your perfect sacrifice, Who takes away the sins of the world. He is worthy to receive all praise, glory and love all the time. May we confess our sins before Him and get our life in order for a heart examination, a life examination, for we will give an answer for our words, our behavior. Dear Lord forgive us when we lash out and hurt others, when we say things that grieve Your Spirit. Forgive us when we act unbecomingly to the name of Christ. We get disappointed, we get hurt, we get fearful, our pride gets hurt and we act like we never met the Savior. Lord help our weakness. Direct our focus back to You, bring peace into our lives. You are sovereign, Your will is being played out in the world, in our nation, in our state, in our locale. Dear Savior, help us to trust You. My thoughts go to Matthew 6:33 “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” Help us to ask the following questions about ourselves: Am I content with who I am becoming? Do I have a quiet center to my life? Is my prayer life improving? Is my humility genuine? Is obedience in small matters built into my reflexes? Do I have joy?
