Graduate Infrastructure Services - Aggreko (Glasgow) We are looking for a highly motivated graduate with a passion for technology to join our global Infrastructure Team based in Glasgow as soon as possible. Your focus will be implementation, administration, support, and maintenance of a variety of hardware, server & application virtualisation, LAN & WAN services, storage, switching, routing, telephony services, in an infrastructure environment. This 2 year role is broadly split between providing day to day support for existing infrastructure services plus project work relating to upgrades or deployment of new infrastructure services. You’ll be able to realise your potential by exploring and developing your ideas to help shape the architecture and technologies of the future. Key responsibilities: •Providing 2nd line support across the infrastructure supporting key services •Liaising with members of the infrastructure team, other technology teams, and internal customers to determine issues and resolve these •Defining and driving ongoing effort to improve products, services or processes •Providing documentation, and support to members of the team as required. •Be engaged in, and provide support for project transition efforts Provide infrastructure lifecycle technical support including planning, installation, management, monitoring, and troubleshooting Person Specification: Education/Qualifications You must have already achieved, a good BSc. degree (minimum 2.1) in a computing discipline. Professional skills/experience If you have a strong interest in a career in IT, are a confident communicator, and excellent organiser combined with a proactive and enthusiastic attitude then this is the role for you. Your attitude and your ability to understand new concepts are more important than your level of experience with particular technologies or methodologies, however real world infrastructure experience and exposure to any of the following would be an advantage: •Experience supporting IT infrastructure including hardware, software, storage, and network resources •Experience of virtualisation technologies •Exposure to LAN & WAN architectures and technologies •Exposure to system performance management •Proven record of problem solving to identify root causes of faults or problems •A good understanding of Powershell •Exposure to System Centre Operations Manager (SCOM) including monitoring, filtering rules, and triggering notifications. •Good understanding of the tools, systems and processes necessary to implement backup, disaster recovery Personal skills/experience · A passion for technology · Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. · Excellent attention to detail. · A strong work ethic · Genuine team player with excellent communication skills. · Strong verbal and written communication skills · Ability to communicate technical concepts to a diverse audience · A person self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously.
