Graduate Project Engineer Reporting to: Contracts Manager Primary Work Location: Aberdeen Salary up to 31k with a bonus for a leading Oil & Gas service business Business Need / Purpose of role: To ensure that workshop repairs are executed on time and to budget, and to ensure the accurate issue of quality documentation and repair instructions. The Project Engineer will provide the necessary support to the Aberdeen workshop and other client departments. This is to ensure that quality of work and that internal and external client communications are to a high standard. Key Responsibilities and Specific Accountabilities: (results this role is expected to accomplish) • Responsible for ensuring on time delivery and commercial commitments of workshop repairs. • Production of pump dismantling record sheets. • Co-ordinate with workshop during strip & inspection, defining repair work scope and any engineering changes identified, compile findings and produce technical report for issue to client. • Compile material and labour repair requirements and generate repair estimates. • Compile client order acknowledgement documents and update internal and external customers on repair issues/on time delivery communication. • Compile comprehensive workshop repair/rebuild instructions which include: Pump critical build data sheets Quality and inspection plans detailing repair operations Workshop Sizing, run out and check sheets Repair order scheduling – initial and detailed • Development of repair plans, and ownership of actual progress against job plans. • Liaise closely with the Commercial Assistants on material requirements, and assist when required with the execution of contract activities. This is to ensure all material and 3rd party requirements are satisfied as per the repair plan timescales. • Liaise closely with the Master Scheduler to ensure plans are updated regularly. • Identification and integration to job work scope of reverse engineering opportunities. • Liaise directly with the workshop during repair on technical issues. • Liaise with the QA Inspector regarding material non conformances and concession reports. • Final inspection release of repair orders form 181. • Issue repair summary costs to client. • Issue close out reports. Objectives & Measurement: • Delivery Performance Delivery commitments • Estimation Timescales Status reports on delivery • Estimation Accuracy Cost control vs estimation accuracy • Quality Warranty/Cost of Poor Quality/Concern Cards • Customer Communication Customer Satisfaction Index Person Specification – Job Knowledge / Education and Qualifications / Personal Attributes • Must have substantial experience within an engineering environment. • Experience of operating within the engineering service sector • Knowledge of rotating equipment. • Knowledge of Asset Management contracts within the process industry would be advantageous • Commercial awareness.
