Graduates: ICT Systems Specialist - Smart Compliance Ltd (Lanarkshire) 12 month ScotGrad placement Salary: £20,000 Bellshill based Smart Compliance Ltd has a superb 12 month graduate placement opportunity for a talented ICT systems graduate. We are looking for someone who has the skills and the determination to become our Technical Expert with a particular emphasis on development of our existing web platform as well as other systems, including communications and software. This is a crucial role for the company as it will provide much needed support for us when we commence sales of our first product. Job description We have developed a comprehensive IT infrastructure and related software required for our sales system, which includes comms, interfaces and web platform. As we now move towards making sales of our first product, we require effective processes to be developed, implemented and maintained which will support these crucial ICT systems. Our aim is to become a well-respected supplier of CO detectors and this reputation will be enhanced by our ability to serve customers in an effective and timely manner and we need our ICT systems to help deliver that. Overall, this is a very important project for the company and the successful candidate will be tasked with the following objectives: Aim to become the Technical Expert within Smart Compliance Development of web platform, communications, software and firmware and to maintain this development as the system grows Working hours will be 8.30am - 5.30pm with an hour for lunch. A permanent role may be available at the end of the project for the right person. Placement Objectives This graduate placement will be vitally important to us as we commence sales of our first product. The successful candidate will provide the company with critical systems support which will ensure that system issues which would otherwise impact negatively on sales, are kept to a minimum. Main Tasks: Analysis, design, implementation and test of web services, using industry standard technologies Provide support for existing systems Investigate opportunities for developing current systems Look at the integration of new and emerging technologies Monitor system for bugs and apply repairs and fixes when and where required Ensure that the system remains robust, reliable and fit for purpose Qualifications Minimum of HND with Computing/Software Development/Technical Support or Degree in Computing Science Essential Skills College/University/Work experience of the following: Java Struts Framework Javascript Linux MySQL PHP Tomcat IPSec VPN Other essential skills: Ability to work and communicate well in a team High awareness of industry standards, issues and trends Understanding of the benefits of excellent customer service scotgrad.co.uk/companies/s/smart-compliance-ltd/placements/ict-systems-specialist-xcfocopmso
