Graduations remind me how quickly time passes. I asked a lady - TopicsExpress

Graduations remind me how quickly time passes. I asked a lady sitting next to me if she remember her graduation (which has not been than long ago). She said she could remember a few things, but not very much vividly. My graduation was at the old high school at the end of church street sixty-three years ago. The only things I remember is sitting on the stage and receiving the Most Athletic award. Other than that, everything is blank. But it still seems like it was just yesterday. Most of you who read this will identify with what I have said. This is life, and it is like a vapor that appears for a little while then vanishes away. Life is like a story that is told. It is brief, uncertain, precarious, and, as Job reminds us, filled with troubles and sorrows. This is why we need to put our souls into the hands of the One who is the eternal Rock of Ages. He is the timeless One. When we give ourselves to him time loses its intimidating power on our lives. We know that at the end of the day (which could come at any time) our Eternal God will usher us into his timeless presence. I pray that events like graduations, wedding anniversaries, class reunions, deaths, and birthdays will be life-changing experiences in our lives. These events will remind us how short life is and lead us to trust He who holds time and eternity in His hands.
