Graham just posted a suggestion to change the points... The discussion in the thread has been talking a lot about getting new points that will change the kind of decks you can play effectively in the meta, or increase the number of decks you can effectively play. That being said, I wonder what everyones thoughts would be on eliminating the Chasm rule, or else re-wording it or reducing the penalty to one point. As it is, the points list seems to cater pretty heavily to combo and/or voltron strategies. Which is fine, but a great way to stop a combo deck is to blow up all their (blue) mana before they can get there. Point is: I personally feel like the general meta of the group has gotten competitive enough that we, as a group, should be able to handle a deck built around mass land destruction (Jhoira, Numot, etc). And, more importantly, I think land destruction can serve an important purpose in the toolkit of a lot of decks as an answer when there just arent any other good answers available. I personally feel that the rule restricts too many cards and too many decks. Maybe Im alone in my thinking though, Id love to hear thoughts from the rest of you.
