OTHER means more of the group. There is OTHER fruit besides peaches in the box. OTHERS means different members of a group. There are many types of peaches in the market. Some are from California, but OTHERS are not. THE OTHERS means THE REST OF THE DIFFERENT MEMBERS OF A GROUP. These apples are from Donnybrook THE OTHERS are not.
