Grammar Success at Victorian Schools Cycling Championships – Western Regional Finals: Congratulations to the Grammar cyclists who competed in the regionals last week, with three students qualifying for the State Finals in Bendigo in October. Year 7 student, Graeme Frislie, took first place in the Boys Under 15 Racing - a terrific achievement from a young lad with loads of talent. In the Boys Under 19 Novice, Geoff Creber took out 1st place, Jack Lawrence third and, Jack Philip fifth. Creber and Lawrence rode exceptionally well, controlling their field of around 20 riders and battling out the final stages. Grammars Master in Charge of Cycling, Mr David Marriott, commented that Creber is a very talented athlete (rowing and athletics) and has been training up a storm on the bike. Jack Lawrence stepped up from a training lay-off to ride extremely well. Congratulations and best wishes for your state finals.
