Grammar has one purpose, to minimize misunderstandings between the Orator/Author and the hearer/reader. If you only mean to communicate to a select audience, you can use any grammar you want, including (shudder) your instead of youre. If, however, you wish me to be one of the hearers/readers, please use fairly formal grammar. I often stop reading when the grammar is such, that it creates too many options for possible meanings. All literature has many possible interpretations. I prefer understanding what the author meant to say, even if, I disagree with it. I have discussed books with people and found we had completely different feeling as to what the author meant, and we both could justify our takeaway, just by a difference in subtle grammar interpretation.
