Grammar school holds so many of our early memories, and so does - TopicsExpress

Grammar school holds so many of our early memories, and so does Victory School for me. Our principal was Mr. David Smith and our Vice Principal was Mr. John Spooner, who also taught the 7 and 8 graders science. Important announcements were brought to each classroom in person by Mr. Smith, and this included the death of President Roosevelt. Mr. Smith was close to tears and we were just stunned. Mr. Smith was always out on the playground supervising things. On occasion when boys were not getting along, out came boxing gloves, so they could have it out and there was Mr. Smith the referee. I was a student K through 8 there.
