Grammy winner Miriam Makeba sings Quongqothwane, also known as the click song, a traditional Xhosa wedding song. Called Mama Africa, her music was banned in South Africa and she was exiled for three decades because of her tireless fight against racial injustice in South Africa and around the world. She returned to South Africa after apartheid ended to help with the transition to a free society. She never stopped performing. She collapsed on stage and died in 2008 during a performance in Italy. She was 76 years old. This performance is from the Zaire 74 music festival in Kinshasa, Zaire that coincided with the Ali-Foreman Rumble in the Jungle heavyweight championship fight.
