Grand Duchy of Flandrensis - Flandrensisian Commonwealth Flandrensisian Embassy in the Kingdom of Belgium Dear Flandrensisian, September 4th is a traditional holiday: Flandrensis Day! And this time our holiday has more glamour because Flandrensis celebrates its 5 year existence! However Flandrensis actually was founded as a temporally hobby… The last year was calm for the government, especially because for many politicians personal matters had priority. However, we reached our objectives: we have a postage stamp and our own coins (last week the Spanish company JFV Coins confirmed that they will produce our coins). The Flandrensisian population increased from 102 to 113, a small increase but instead of 14 Flandrensis have now 21 different nationalities! Each year we try to achieve some objectives, Flandrensis is after all a development of many years. What may you expect the next year: new Senate elections in October, a government that in addition to managing a country also will lay the emphasis on managing a cultural organization, a new professional website and participation in the 3rd International Conference for Micronations in Italy. And to start a new year: the Flemish regional newspaper “Het Wekelijks Nieuws” will publish an article about the celebration of 5 year Flandrensis! Finally, I would like to thank all Flandrensisians: believe in Flandrensis means as much as being active in Flandrensis.
