Grand Jury Indicts Thorntons in Truong Homicide State Attorney Bill Eddins announced that on October 16, 2014, an Escambia County Grand Jury indicted Dontonio Diaz Thornton and Willie Mae Thornton for one count of First Degree Murder – Premeditated or Felony, in the death of Phuong Truong. On September 13, 2014, Phuong Truong, the owner/operator of T&M Foodmart on Michigan Avenue, was shot and killed during the course of a robbery. Dontonio Thornton’s is scheduled for his arraignment today at 9:00 a.m. and Willie Mae Thornton is scheduled for her arraignment on October 23, 2014 at 9:00. Both the investigation and arrest were conducted by the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office.
