Grand final day at the footy. I hope Shorten takes some notes. The Labor Party rank and file want you to take the ball to Abbott like a forward ...... charge him with it when he kicks it at you .... at the moment you are like a ball boy meekly taking it back to him to kick again in a slightly different direction or a bit softer. You seem to be apolligising to Abbott for opposing anything he does. The majority of voters are unsure if we should have led with full on promises of Military support to bomb someone in the Middle East. Abbott admitted he did not know who the “baddies” were. The rest of the world were discussing what action to take in their Parliaments and Senates while Abbott and seemingly Shorten were saying “Lets Bomb somebody teach them a lesson” We remember every time we are involved in a war that is not ours we come off second best. We don’t like the gutless way we are treating Assylum Seekers. If they reach our waters they are our responsibility full stop. Abbott is shrugging off the problem like they are unwanted animals entering his backyard. He is ringing the pound to take them to be euthanized, out of sight, out of mind. He himself is a financial refugee and should be reminded of that every day. There at least a dozen things I could rattle down where you have been weak. Are you worried about bad press from Fairfax and Murdoch? Remember a real man in Parliament who had Abbott well and truly in his place? Tony Windsor kept him in check by calling a spade and letting him know he had seen the card. He also kept the Fairfax mob behind the line when they printed unfactuall garbage about his family by simply not talking to their reporters and issuing written statements to them on policy, threatening them with legal action if they strayed by one word from the statement. They had to admit speculation from that point on anything other than the statement they printed. Problem solved. The Labor Party will never get fair coverage from Murdoch Packer or Fairfax so just get on with policy and forget them. There is another news outlet that is growing day by day and that’s digital media. Concentrate on new players like Guardian Australia and make Murdoch and co recycle stories from them, whether they like it or not. Meanwhile the cheer squad are yelling for the home team. Gina, Clive, Packer, Murdoch or Fairfax will never cheer for the Labor Party Shorten, no matter how nice you are to them. Clive is the Mining Party of Australia no mistake about that. The majority of rank and file in the Labor Party did not want you as Captain. The majority wanted Albanese. Why are you there? I can not speak for all Labor supporters but they are my thoughts.
