Grandmaster Flowers was my mentor in the DJ game from 1973 to 1977 at the time of my retirement. The thing is it was the beginning of Hip Hop with King Tim the III, then the following week the release of Rappers Delight. I spun both these records before my retirement in 77 semi professionally at a computerized club in Patchogue Long Island. The live act was Gary US Bonds, a 50s and 60s Rock and Roll band.
