Grandpa quotes, the continuation. Ba bup bup BUP!....Grandpas secret language version of bah humbug.... used in response to the friendly, smiling nurse saying with determined optimism so nice to see you outside today! They all seemed used to it. Also, --a variation on ba bup which came long before Alzheimers and can be explained in yesterdays post (started in circa 1940s to refer to any item hed mislaid: as in please pass the ba-bup, where is the ba-bup. All they do is keep her outside out there. Can you believe it. Must be cheaper. For them to keep them all (employees) outside....trying to offer to my uncle some possible explanation for how I can possibly be getting tan in California and still supposedly hold viable employment. These.women...find me eVERywhere!.....grumbled in wonderment about the nurse who very very kindly brought him his dinner to eat outside with myself and my uncle in the courtyard since it was a nice night and that way we need not join the others. Immmm NOT A TOY!.....with warning sideways glance.....apparently my fun game of using the up and down buttons on his electric powered arm chair in quick succession..... ...followed by me lifting his one arm and then the other to help put on a shirt......had really just tried his patience. :) Dont mess up my hair!....and I touched the back of his (bald?) head. This one definitely threw me off. ;) Then, DONT talk to him. Firmly. To me about a gentleman in the residence who wanders around is a bit....not doing well with social interactions. They took off all those mens hair! ....pointing to the balding characters in Frazier. Dont get too ambitious. Ouff....dont get .....too ambitious to the resident assistant trying to give him a hearty portion of lunch. And lastly, Mmm ouuefff thats MY DAUGHTER.....said in a loud enough grumble to carry across the entire dining hall as I was leaving to let him eat lunch...in response to his buddy Foz whod asked who is THAT(also grumbled) as I was leaving his table. That slip/mistake may have also had very little to do with Alzheimers as it has really spanned two decades. I love you too, Grandpa.
