Grandpa was a Carpenter. He was an overall wearing, hammer toting, happy man. I guess that is what I remember most about him, he was always laughing and happy. He never seemed to be worried about anything. I guess that was before Stress was invented, or at least Grandpa did not know what it was. He grew watermelons, pole beans, and strong boys. I never heard him complain or fuss about anything. He was not even close to rich but he was Content. I suppose that Contentment is a form of wealth. Without it you are extremely poor, no matter how much money you have. With it you find it easy to take some time on a warm Spring day to sit on your front porch swing, and tell tall tales to your Grandkids. I had rather be a Carpenter Contented with what he has than a King Conquering who is never satisfied. Yes, Grandpa was a Carpenter who built more than houses, he built a Family. Grandpas name is Joe.
