Grandpa’s old truck This truck was brand new in 1952 and it - TopicsExpress

Grandpa’s old truck This truck was brand new in 1952 and it belonged to my grandpa Jack. It was a bright shinny Ford and had running boards and the color was midnight black. He washed it twice a week and dried it so it wouldn’t streak and always kept it inside a shed. It appeared that’s where he stood when he tried to raise the hood and when they found him he was already dead. It was a matter of time before that truck became mine and I’ll own it till the day that I die. When my work on earth is done it will be my grandson’s and I want him to understand why. It’s been taken care of by me and it’s not hard to see that it looks like the day it was bought. He has worked on it with me since he was about three and everything I know he was taught. Me and my wife have been part of his life and this old truck has always been there. He’s been taught well and it’s easy to tell he’ll cherish it when it’s put in his care. So late one night I decided to write a poem that explains how I feel. This old truck and me are part of his legacy and it will help keep him grounded to what’s real. You may think he is young but he’s far from being dumb and there are things that looks can’t tell. So there’s one thing you should know if you’re at a car show this old truck is not for sale.
