Granted .. this is the Post ... so there really isnt much more here than what is needed to sell another paper ... “This is so poorly designed that a lot of doctors are afraid to participate,” said Dr. Sam Unterricht, president of the 29,000-member organization. “There’s a lot of resistance. Doctors don’t know what they’re going to get paid.” No one has really talked around the idea that doctors could simply not participate. If their insurance payout is cut, I cant imagine they will be lining up to work for *less* money; those hundreds of thousands in student loans wont pay themselves. Many doctors already chafe under insurance company restrictions. What will happen when we have ten times the patients overnight, and no increase in doctors? I have to wait three months for a routine physical with my GP as it is.
