Operation and Maintenance of Equipment: • Operate printers, plotters, laminators, and other equipment necessary to produce client jobs. • Maintain and monitor server and backup routines for all files produced in the Graphics department. • Operate desktop and/or copier scanners as needed. • Operate and calibrate monitor, office printers / copiers, print equipment, etc. to ensure accurate color production and proofing. • Clean and maintain all equipment. B. Quality • Maintain superior quality on all individual work. • Work with team members to ensure superior quality on all jobs produced. C. Inventory: • Monitor and order computer, software, and equipment supply needs as required in timely manner to ensure consistency in production flow, to avoid production shut downs, and hold costs down. D. End of Day Procedures: • Dispose of waste materials in compliance with current environmental regulations. • Perform routine maintenance / cleaning on equipment. • Keep work zone tidy and clutter free. Document: positional description - graphic designer E. General: • Participate in daily production meetings. • Work with management to reschedule workloads as necessary to meet promised due dates. • Maintain clean and organized Graphics area. • Abide by center policies/procedures as outlined. F. Customer Service – as necessary • Assist internal sales associates/customer service representatives with educating clients on proper submission of digital files. • Educate clients on department capabilities and proper file construction techniques. • Work with clients in a consultative manner to understand their needs and provide guidance for best solution. Qualifications: High school diploma or GED. • Minimum of 2 years education in graphic design or equivalent work experience. • Ability to identify and meet customers’ needs and requirements. • Good sense of design and color. • Must be a self-starter and a problem solver. • Previous experience in sign industry - a plus. • Knowledge of sign industry substrates, media, products - a plus. • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. • Professional, upbeat, positive attitude. • Sharp attention to detail. • Keen multi-tasking abilities. • Ability to work independently and as an integral team member. • Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with diverse customer/prospect base. • Expertise in the following software applications: o Adobe InDesign – average user. o Adobe Illustrator – very proficient. o Adobe Photoshop – very proficient. o Adobe Acrobat Professional – proficient in using. o Microsoft Office – (Word, Excel, Power Point) - average user. o Onyx Production House – preferred proficient, but will train. o Finecut Plotter Software - preferred proficient, but will train. o Gerber OMEGA Design & Plotting Software- preferred proficient, but will train. • Proficient in wide-format printing with Onyx RIP operation highly desirable. • Proficient in color management concepts and calibration procedures. Additional Information: • Will be exposed to ink and chemical fumes and airborne particles such as dust. • Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs. • Fast-paced environment: subject to numerous schedule/priority changes and short notice activity.
