Graphic and Web Designer - Pretoria East - R10 000 - R13 000 Main Responsibilities a) Development, production, and distribution of publications. b) The production of visual solutions to communicate required messages. c) Prepare advertising or sales promotion material to support marketing efforts. d) The production of content / editorial for a variety of different mediums in both online and offline space for the company’s audience groups. e) Examples of output functions include email- communications, Direct Mail, online e-newsletters, sales / product and campaign support material, educational presentations, advertising, Visual and Audio presentations, brochures and information packs, corporate / company documentation and agreements. f) Marketing and communications material including content for internet sites and external publications. g) The design and production of print marketing and communication materials. h) Internet content. i) Web design, development and management. j) Promotional displays, packaging, and marketing brochures for products and services. k) Design distinctive logos and corporate identity materials for products and businesses. l) Brainstorming and mocking up design ideas. m) Presenting ideas to management and clients. n) Meeting with clients and adjusting designs to fit their needs or taste. o) Costing and requesting and coordinating quotes. p) Working with others, such as printers, programmers, developers or other technicians, to complete the final product. Key Competencies / Skills Required * Proven visual communications skills and abilities, including desktop publishing and computer graphics / graphic design. * Proven web design and development skills and abilities. * Knowledge of and experience with Drupal and Joomla and advantage. * Mastery of HTML and the most current HTML extensions. * Ability to add special features to web pages such as animations and interactive surveys. * An excellent understanding of software functionality. * Knowledge of browser / server compatibility, including which browsers and servers work well together and which ones do not. * Flexible in regards to requests to change designs and the ability to cope well with changing demands. * Ability to work as part of a team or on your own, as needed. * Self motivated and creative. * Good project and time management skills. * The ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines. * Work to completion within a pressured environment. * A high level of computer literacy. * Fluency in current graphic design practices and web production. * Good knowledge and experience in results-focused communications concepts, principles and practices. * Ability to create superior, original designs for the Web. * Previous experience working on Internet-related subject matter. * Ability to think and communicate strategically with a variety of people. * Excellent conceptualization skills. * Ability to effectively manage multiple projects/tasks of varying complexities. * Up-to-date knowledge of industry software. * Good written communication skills and abilities. * Ability to research and compile editorial content if needed. * Proofreading of content to ensure accurate and high-quality work / content. * Keeping abreast of developments in IT, particularly design programs such as Corel Draw, FreeHand, Illustrator, Photoshop, 3D Studio, Acrobat, Director, Dreamweaver and Flash. * Multimedia design / production, with audio editing abilities an advantage. * Originality - The ability to come up with unusual or clever ideas about a given topic or situation, or to develop creative ways to solve a problem. * Developing specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish your work. * Creative. * Punctual. * Professional. * Reliable. * Passionate. * Focused. * Disciplined. * Accurate.
