Grass fed meat Pasture FedWhat is pasture-fed meat Pasture-fed meat is the natural diet that our cattle and sheep eat. It contains wild flowers, herbs and many types of grasses. Very few animals are fed on pasture alone. Many of these animals are not fed grass as it is a much slower process. Farmers are trying to produce their meat as quickly as possible to make more money from them. Many of these animals are disappearing from the fields and the quality healthy meat is extremely hard to find. Is grass-fed meat the same as pasture fed meat? Fields of just grass does provide all the nutritional components an animal needs. However, our pastures are species rich, including herbs,clovers and wild flowers provide a much richer diet packed full of vitamins and minerals. Some shops in the UK are selling their meat as grass-fed. However this can be describe meat where the animals at some point have eaten grass but also have eaten grains and cereals as well as other by-products.
