Grateful message...I am sure that a lot of you in the regions of the US (or other countries in the northern hemisphere) are seeing it turn from Summer to Fall, and it actually feels like it is just rushing right into Winter. Most dramatic for me is that the trees have so quickly shed their leaves. Losing our warm days and the ease of Summer can almost be depressing. I know, some of your love Fall..but the message still applies. I am a Summer girl, I love hiking in lush forests, I love working in my vegetable garden, I love sitting outside and reading. Now I have cold winds, and that beloved vegetable garden is put to rest under a blanket of leaves. What I have awakened to though is that I have new views of the world. Where standing in my front yard on the hill I use to only see layers of tree tops. Lovely indeed but that is what I would see. Now the change of seasons has brought a different view. A much longer view. No longer is my vision obscured by leaves, I now see at a distance, hills, town, a few landmarks, and at night I get a delightful display of city lights twinkling through what was once blocked. The hardship of the on coming cold has given me a new vision, new directions, new discoveries. I am reminded that growing older or facing a life obstacle is a lot like this coming of Fall. Life changes, how I view the world changes, but if I look with a grateful heart, the view, though different has a beauty of its own that you might not have seen before. Today, I recommend you look past the trees that at one point obscured your vision and see what lays beyond. I am grateful that different can be wonderful.
