Gratitude Challenge- Day 5 (Final day) 1. I am grateful for language. Almost everything I know and every thought I have is made possible through language. It might be the most important tool available to man. In addition to redefining life and communication among our species, it also enables to creation of fantastic works of art through literature. Im grateful for the knowledge and skill to use that tool. 2. I am grateful for my younger brother, Cormac. After about twelve years of living in the same room, its not surprising that we have such similar thought processes. Hes pretty much my best friend, and for the sheer magnitude of my shit that hes put up with over the years it amazes me constantly that he still talks to me. Hes had my back my whole life, and I can honestly say his existence has had the single biggest impact on my life out of anyone I know. He is the Pippin to my Merry, the Fred to my George, and more importantly the Imotekh to my Obyron, and I am grateful for him. 3. I am grateful for my intelligence. While it may be true that ignorance is bliss, I am of the opinion that learning new things and getting new ideas brings more substantial rewards. Figuring out the answer to a tough problem or having an entirely new thought or perspective on something can change my mood from foul to delightful in no time. The ability to think and comprehend the world around me, its people and its circumstances, is of the greatest value I can readily apply to parts of myself. I challenge Jeff and Aliya to participate.
