Gratitude Day 138: Confidence What an incredible feeling - TopicsExpress

Gratitude Day 138: Confidence What an incredible feeling confidence is. Having confidence in yourself, when you know that you are capable sure of not only your skill set but all of the other factors in taking on a task, project or fulfilling a goal. There is also the comforting feeling of knowing the team you are on, group you are working with or people you have put your trust with are with you, respect you and supporting you as well as you support them. Confidence breeds success, victory and when at its peak gives you a euphoric feeling of invincibility. Confidence creates that coveted zone athletes, artists and creative people of all kinds strive for. That feeling of knowing exactly how to do something, exactly when to do it and exactly why it has to be done. Confidence saves lives. Think about all of those professions that rely on confidence brain surgeons with their precise and definite calculated moves removing a tumor or blood clot, firefighters and cops putting their lives on the line knowing just when to act to save lives or prevent a catastrophe, athletes and artists pushing the envelope of physical and emotional boundaries for our enjoyment and their growth, scientific and technology pioneers making our world an easier and better place to live enhancing and improving our quality and standard of life, and all of the other jobs and careers that require confidence to keep our lives and existence better and brighter. Some of my earliest memories of confidence seem so simple and unimportant in the entire scheme of life but they served to build a foundation of confidence that has grown throughout my life, enabling me to try new things, branch out in new directions, open new doors and dive into creative pools of endeavor with optimism, enthusiasm and a can-do attitude. When I first rode my tricycle to kindegarten, when I ventured out to sell seeds in the spring time and Christmas cards in the winter, little league football, elementary school plays, fishing with my Dad and my buddies, day long hikes and exploring, working out in the gym, running cross country, building my coin collection and almost every early part time job I had. All of these early triumphs came initially with some trepidation, hesitation, falling down and skinning my knees (sometimes literally) but when I stuck it out, learned from my mistakes, watched and learned from those in charge or that came before me and knew that eventually my capability and tenacity would give me what I needed to succeed ........ confidence. A lifetime of failure, frustration, stumbling, bumbling, aggravation, tears, torment, surprise, fear, anger, insecurity, and all of the other stifling, suffocating, restricting blocks that have been thrown in my path has fomented and produced an unlikely effect ....................... confidence. Confidence in knowing that life is to be lived, experienced, wrung out until that last breath passes our lips. Striving, searching, seeking going confidently into that dark night knowing that even in the darkness the light of experience will illuminate the path in your minds eye allowing you to find your destination. Confidence gives you the power to open your mind to the realm of possibility to be here in the moment, in the experience learning what todays lesson might be. with Lisa Campbell McCorkle
