Gratitude, Day 35 I am grateful for the Friend of sinners who listens without interrupting. I can wail, lament, explain, and babble. I can cry myself to sleep and cry myself to hysteria. He is all ears. I am grateful to hear the voice of the merciful Lord who speaks without accusing. He convicts me of my flaws yet places the guilty sentence upon Himself. His voice is firm yet gentle enough to hush my tempests to a whisper. I am thankful to the generous Father who gives and gives without sparing. He did not even spare His own Son so determined was He to provide all that I could ever need. He supplies and shepherds. I shall not want. I am most grateful for the divine Intercessor who prays on my behalf without ever stopping. Not one of my issues and concerns goes unmentioned in His prayers. And, oh, do I need prayers! I am thankful to the Holy One who answers my insolent questions without arguing. He patiently allows me to question His decisions when they dont match my plan, knowing full well that His plans and purposes are the ones that will prevail. I am grateful for a Forgiver who took upon Himself the punishment that was reserved for me. Thank You! How can I say thanks For the things You have done for me? Things so undeserved, Yet You did to prove Your love for me The voices of a million angels Could not express my gratitude All that I am and ever hope to be I owe it all to Thee.
